Wrapping in the Spirit of Wa, Furoshiki (Private)

Furoshiki is a traditional Japanese square cloth. It has long been used to wrap and carry items. With just a single piece of cloth and a simple knot, you can wrap many kinds of objects. Throughout its long history, furoshiki has been used to wrap gifts and transport precious belongings. The charm of furoshiki lies in its simplicity and versatility. By changing the way, you tie it to suit the shape of the item, you can beautifully wrap books, lunch boxes, wine bottles, and much more. Because it can be used again and again, it is also an environmentally friendly item. Furoshiki reflects the beauty of Japan and the spirit of caring for and valuing things. It is both practical and full of warmth. In this experience, you will learn a variety of ways to use furoshiki. In addition to wrapping techniques, we will also introduce useful methods for times of disaster or emergency. As a souvenir, you will take home a furoshiki and an instruction booklet. We hope you will enjoy discovering the wisdom and creativity of Japan through furoshiki.
