OISHII STREET~Kyoto traditional kitchen~NISHIKI tour

Nishiki Market is known as "Kyoto's Kitchen" has developed as a place that supplies the daily food to the locals. On this tour, you will stop at shops selling traditional Kyoto ingredients such as "Yuba (soymilk skin)" and "Namafu (raw wheat gluten)" and purchase various side dishes and seasonings. Along the way, you will visit a well that is not open to the public and learn about the history of NISHIKI Market. After shopping at the market, you will move to a Kyoto style townhouse and make miso soup and your own Shokado bento with the ingredients you purchased at the market. At the end, you will enjoy your bento while looking at the beautiful courtyard garden. This is a valuable tour where you can experience the traditional food culture of Kyoto through ingredients that you would not encounter on a walking food tour and through communication with the shop staff.

*This is an officially recognized tour of the Kyoto NISHIKI Market Shopping District Promotion Association (This is not a cooking experience, so if you would like to cook, please apply for the cooking program.)
